BLACKLOCK, BIRMINGHAM
Set within a restored Victorian vicarage overlooking St Philip’s Cathedral, Blacklock Birmingham was designed to feel deeply connected to the history and character of the existing building while remaining unmistakably Blacklock. Working closely with the client and wider project team, the interiors carefully balance heritage, atmosphere and functionality, combining restored architectural features with reclaimed panelling, textured finishes, vintage lighting and layered materials that feel naturally embedded within the fabric of the space.
Inspired by the building’s rich past and Birmingham’s local identity, the design creates a warm, informal and characterful dining experience that feels timeless, honest and welcoming. Every element - from the space planning and lighting to the material palette and decorative detailing - was considered to create a restaurant that feels as though it has always belonged there, offering guests a lively yet intimate take on the traditional British chophouse.
