CARAVAN, COVENT GARDEN
Caravan’s most recent and largest site to date is a beautifully restored Grade II listed former grain store in the heart of London’s iconic theatre land. As with the other Caravan restaurants, we created a bespoke design which showcased the original charm and character of the building whilst retaining a focus on using repurposed, reclaimed and natural finishes. We worked with Caravan to create a design narrative linking back to the rugged outdoor landscape of the Pacific coastline – a connection to Caravan’s New Zealand roots. Sandy weathered finishes are layered with playful natural materials such as hemp, stone and hand-picked timbers. We carefully zoned two floors, creating a light and calming interior on the ground floor and a separate basement dining area with a cocktail bar, vintage speakers and bespoke seating that fill the nooks and crannies.
