junior interior designer
Full-time | Studio-based (Nottingham)
Other Side Studio is looking for a Junior Interior Designer to join our small, growing team in Nottingham. This role would ideally suit someone with up to 1–2 years’ studio experience, or a recent graduate who is ready to hit the ground running and keen to get properly stuck in and learn fast.
Hospitality experience is a big plus (bars, restaurants, hotels, cafés), but not essential — we’re just as happy to hear from someone with a strong interest in hospitality design and a great design eye. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who’s enthusiastic, proactive and a quick learner, and who’s excited to be part of a hands-on studio environment.
You’ll be working closely with the directors and designers, supporting projects from early concept through to delivery. This is a great opportunity to gain real responsibility, develop both creative and technical skills, and grow with the studio.
What you’ll be doing:
Supporting the design team across hospitality and commercial projects
Assisting with concept development, mood boards and presentations
Helping with space planning and layout drawings
Assisting in producing technical drawings and packages
Researching materials, finishes, furniture and suppliers
Getting involved in meetings, site visits and day-to-day studio life
What we’re looking for:
A degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or similar
A strong interest in hospitality and experience-led interiors
Strong CAD skills (Vectorworks a bonus, but not essential)
Good understanding of SketchUp
Good understanding of Adobe Suite
A good design eye and understanding of materials and finishes
Organised, motivated and happy juggling different tasks
A quick learner who’s keen to take feedback and develop
Based in Nottingham
Mid-weight / senior interior designer
Full-time | Studio-based (Nottingham)
Other Side Studio is seeking an intelligent, creative and driven mid-weight / senior interior designer to join our growing Nottingham-based team. We are looking for someone with a strong hospitality background who is confident working across bar, restaurant, hotel and experiential interior projects.
You should have around 3 / 5 years’ professional experience, ideally within hospitality-led interiors, and be comfortable producing high-quality technical drawings. Experience using Vectorworks is highly desirable. Due to the collaborative, studio-based nature of the role, candidates should be Nottingham-based or able to commute to Nottingham.
You will work closely with the studio directors and senior designers, supporting the delivery of projects from initial concept through to completion. The role includes contributing to concept development, space planning, detailed design, furniture and FF&E selection, and coordinating with clients, consultants, suppliers and contractors.
What you’ll be doing:
Working on hospitality and commercial interior projects from concept to completion
Helping to create brand new concepts from initial brief through to reality, sketch layouts and space planning
Producing detailed technical drawings and packages
Space planning, furniture layouts and FF&E selection
Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and suppliers
Getting involved on site and helping bring projects to life
What we’re looking for:
Around 3 / 5+ years’ experience in interior design
Hospitality experience (bars, restaurants, hotels, etc.)
Vectorworks experience (or keen to get really good at it)
Proficiency in SketchUp is essential
Good understanding of Adobe Suite
Strong technical and detailing skills
A great design eye and understanding of materials and finishes
Proactive, collaborative and happy working as part of a small studio
Based in Nottingham
CAD TECHNICIAN
Full-time | Studio-based (Nottingham)
Other Side Studio is looking for a CAD Technician to join our Nottingham studio and support the technical delivery of our hospitality and commercial interior projects. This role is perfect for someone who loves the detail, understands how interiors go together, and has a strong design eye alongside solid technical skills.
You’ll be working closely with the designers and directors, helping translate creative concepts into clear, accurate and buildable drawing packages. A background in hospitality interiors (bars, restaurants, hotels) would be ideal, as would experience using Vectorworks. We’re keen to find someone who enjoys being part of a collaborative studio and getting involved across different stages of a project.
This is a studio-based role, so you’ll need to be Nottingham-based or able to commute easily.
What you’ll be doing:
Producing and coordinating technical drawing packages for hospitality projects
Developing detailed plans, sections, elevations and joinery drawings
Supporting designers by turning concepts into clear, buildable information
Assisting with space planning and layout coordination
Coordinating drawings with consultants, contractors and suppliers
Helping maintain drawing standards and technical consistency across projects

Experience as a CAD Technician within interior design or architecture (+3 years preferred)
Hospitality project experience preferred
Strong Vectorworks skills (or similar CAD software)
Good understanding of SketchUp
A good design eye and understanding of materials, finishes and detailing
Organised, accurate and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
Proactive, collaborative and happy working as part of a small studio
Based in Nottingham
An understanding of Building Regs, Planning and Statutory Requirements would be a bonus
